Fish Fanatics Camp
Smith Lake Enclosed Shelter

Campers will enjoy the following activities: Learn the early history of fishing, knot tying basics, fish identification and of course Fishing in Smith Lake! Kids must be between 9-12 years old. Space is limited. Call 295-2138 to reserve your spot.

Join Evelyn Ruhnke as she teaches us about pressing flowers and making some fun crafts along the way. We'll be making one bookmark, one picture to go inside a 4x6 frame (so please bring a frame with you), and 2 stationary cards. Insect Zoo

Join staff from Iowa State University's entomology department for this come and go insect program. They will have over 100 different species of living arthropods (insects) and lots of hands-on opportunities. Don't miss out on this one!


Nature Nerd Day
Smith Lake South Beach, Enclosed Shelter

10-1:00 p.m.
1:00 - Presentation by Bruce and Karen Meurer

If you weren't already one, we'll make a nature nerd out of you at this event! There will be open boating on the lake with our canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. Also crafts and and other fun nature activies. Bruce and Karen Muerer, local historians and 18th century America reenactors will be doing wood carving and outdoor baking demonstrations with a formal talk to follow at 1:00.
