Join Kossuth County Conservation staff for our annual birdhouse building program over winter break. This year we will be building a small replica outhouse for a bird family to move into in your backyard. The program will take place at Water's Edge Nature Center and is offered at both 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on December 31. Pick a time and session that is most convenient for you. Houses cost $10 each. Space is limited so please call 515-295-2138 to reserve your spot or click here. Deadline to register is 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30. Please bring an electric drill if you have one (we'll have some extras too). Kids must be accompanied by an adult or responsible teen. This is a great family activity for family visiting from near and far!
Outdoor Women's Day

Join Emmet, Kossuth and Palo Alto county conservations for a day of outdoor fun and camaraderie. Grab your besties and show up ready to learn the basics of ice fishing, xc skiing and snowshoeing. Try your hand at archery and make a festive wood-burned charcuterie board to take home with you. No prior experience needed. Participants must be 18 years old or older to attend.
